OVERCOMING MARITAL STORMS

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PRAYER

These prayers have been designed to invite God into any marital storm or challenging
situation you may be facing.

Instead of running away or refusing to face these problems, we should instead run to God, who can make things right. When one partner has decided to pull out of the marriage, then this prayer is required urgently.

In addition to this prayer, the following might also help you in positioning yourself for a
blissful marriage from now on.

Overcoming Marital Storms

1. Keep Christ at the Centre of your marriage: When you keep Christ at the center, He
will enable you to be better for each other. Matt. 6:33.

2. Avoid selfishness: To have a strong, joyful and peaceful marriage, you have to put
your spouse’s needs before you own and learn how to love them well. Phil. 2:4

3. Let the word of God guide you always: Knowing the word of God helps you know
what behaviour is acceptable in your marriage and also to know the will of God for
you and your spouse. Psalm 119:11

4. Know that you can overcome marital storm: Others have overcome it, you will also
overcome it with God by your side. I Cor. 10:13

5. Persevere in the place of prayer: Prayer is a very potent weapon against any form
of challenge in life, be it natural or supernatural. Engage in prevailing prayers. Stand in
the gap for your marriage and God will arise for you, in the name of Jesus

The power of prayer cannot be overemphasized. Prayer can repair any relationship, no
matter the level of damage. It can bring spouses together, no matter how sour their
relationship has gotten.

Prayer can mend any damage, clear any confusion, straighten any heart, resolve any conflict, and heal any hurt. It can bring reconciliation to your marriage. All you have to do is call upon God. Believe in his ability to answer your prayers, and remove any doubt from your heart (Mark 11:23).

By praying these prayers diligently with all your heart, you are asking God to intervene in
your marriage and help you and your partner take steps to make your home an abode for
the presence of God. For with God, nothing is impossible.
